The Ministry is now moving into the second phase of its Research and Development program, that will focus on:

1) Defining the roadmap for how the Research and Development ecosystem will be strengthened; and

2) Clarifying how the program will be governed in order to ensure collaboration from stakeholders.

3) Prioritizing the initiatives defined in the roadmap that will help MoE achieve its goals.

In the second phase, the Ministry will be launching several R&D program initiatives in order to:

• Develop talent across the Research and Development value chain, particularly with respect to product development and commercialization;
• Develop partnerships between eminent global organizations and the private sector;
• Reduce the bureaucracy of decision making;
• Directly fund research, at the University level, where appropriate.
